Frequently Asked Questions
What do you paint?
That’s the question I get asked most often! I paint realistic and semi-abstract landscapes, realistic seascapes, and semi-abstract florals. My work ranges across several styles — from realism and impressionism to surrealism and fauvism — depending on the mood or idea I want to express on the canvas.
Do you do commissions?
Yes. For sure. Commissions whilst challenging, take me of my comfort zone. When asked to do a commission I see my self as a condiut to create someone elses vision. Its a unique creative process. I am always astounded by the results and often thankful I have learn’t something new along the way. The commissions can take any where from a week to two months to complete, depending on the medium and the level of detail.
How’s the art business going?
Well, thanks for asking — it’s going great, but it keeps me busy! Running an art business means wearing a lot of different hats throughout the week. Alongside painting, I’m doing woodwork, prepping, priming, sealing — all the hands-on stuff that keeps the artwork itself in top shape. Then there’s the business side: advertising, emails, documentation, archiving, and maintaining my websites. I also handle product placement with original art sales sites and print houses, organise professional art photography, and take care of hanging, storage, and studio maintenance. Add in commissions, packing, postage, and courier runs — and it’s a full schedule! But I love every part of it; it all helps keep the creative wheels turning and the business thriving.
Do you exhibit?
Yes. I exhibit in various group shows/art prizes through out the year. To see my artworks in person. Studio visits are welcome by appointment. Contact via email.
